Story
Hi there!
I'm making a difference by fundraising for a cause that's very close to my heart.
Four years ago our world turned upside down when my daughter, aged 13, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We had some knowledge about the condition before diagnosis, but it was a steep learning curve. Especially those first six months! Thankfully, there are organisations out there, like Diabetes Queensland, who offer ongoing support for those living with Type 1 and their families.
In November, I am stepping well outside my comfort zone and taking part in the Great Ocean Road Trek for Diabetes Queensland. I'll be hiking 100km of Victoria's coastline to help raise funds and awareness in support of the diabetes community. It was not too long ago that I averaged 2,500 to 3,000 steps per day!!
My goal is to raise a minimum of $3,500 for vital programs supporting children, adults and families living with all types of diabetes. Please support my efforts by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support.
Donations made through this platform are secure ($2+ are tax deductible) and will be remitted directly through to Diabetes Queensland. Thanks so much for your support!
